| The
Beverhoutsroute explores a lovely section
of the sandy region south of Bruges. This route takes
you through diverse scenery lined by poplars and pollard-willows:
fields and pastures, forests, impressive castle domains
and picturesque farmsteads. The starting point lays
alongside the Canal Ghent-Ostend, from there on you
will cycle to the vast fields and acres of the Beverhoutsveld.
After that, you will go to the Ryckevelde forest via
the marchlands in Assebroek. Next, you can explore
a small part of East-Flanders, cycling past Maldegemveld
and the Groot-Burkel domain. On your way back, you
will pass by the towns Knesselare and Sint-Joris-ten-Distel.

| Zuidleieroute
(The South-Leie route): for the better part
of this trail, you will follow the course of the Leie.
The Canal Ghent-Brugge was dug in the riverbed of
this river. The trail will take you past charming
Canal Banks; you will also pass through a part of
the Beverhoutsveld. The route has been carefully set
up, so that you will only bike on fenced-off cycle-tracks
and quiet roads. Along the way, you can see bunkers
that date back to WWII, farmsteads, castles and nature
reserves.

| The
Bulskampveld route
On this cycling-tour you will explore the surrounding
area of Bulskampveld, an area of outstanding beauty
characterized by forests and beautiful scenery, located
to the south-east of Bruges. This whole area used
to be heath land; in the 19th century the biggest
part of this heath land was replaced by forests. However,
several traces of heath can still be found in the
area. The greater part of this cycling tour passes
through the provincial domain Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld.
You will also pass through other green areas, such
as the Hooggoed in Aalter, the Nieuwenhove forest
in Oostkamp and on the way back the banks of the Canal
Ghent-Bruges.
